Ability and Ability Crystals are not the same. Ability is something that granted to each individual equipment set by default, while Ability Crystal are crystals that are infused with abilities and can obtained by slaying a behemoth in expedition. Both Ability and Ability Crystals plays an important part as they further enhance your favourite equipment.

Every SS and some S equipment will be granted with a predefined fixed passive ability (indicated by Green colour) and 2 other random abilities which can be changed unlimited amount of times (indicated by Yellow color).
How to change ability?
Ability granted to equipment can be changed from the Change Abilities option. This will change all yellow abilities granted to your equipment at once.
Only Yellow abilities are changed with Change Abilities.
Green Abilities are not changed with Change Abilities.
