Discussion: Ovidium (Evolution) Set VS Golem Set
Hey guys! Some of you might be wondering if you should pull for Golden Ovidium Set.. Or wait for the future Fire Heat GS instead.. Fret not because we have Nezzy here who will be sharing with everyone his analysis/review for the set!
Nezzy: With the new heat Ovid evolution returning in a guaranteed SS banner, you might be wondering how it measures up to the future Fire Heat GS (Golem), and any possible combinations to bring out their full potential. Fret not, I skipped breakfast to do this did the math for you.
Shishui: Whaaaaat! Thank you Nezzy! ><
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Nezzy:
Ovid Weapon : Fire Dmg+42%, Dmg dealt to Fatigue enemies+48%, Cleave Charge Time-24%
Golem Weapon : Fire Dmg+42%, Cleave Dmg+18%, Dmg when using Heat Gauge+18%
Ovid Armor : Fire Dmg+45%, Dmg Reduction-15%, Dmg when using Heat Gauge+15%
Golem Armor : Fire Dmg+45%, Cleave Dmg+15%, Cleave Charge Time-15%
7/7 Ovid : Dmg dealt to Fatigue enemies+144%, Dmg when using Heat Gauge+60%, Dmg Reduction-60%, Cleave Charge Time-72%
7/7 Golem : Cleave Dmg+114%, Dmg when using Heat Gauge+54%, Cleave Charge Time-60%
As we can see, while Ovid's full output is limited to fatigue, he has the edge over Golem in terms of defensive abilities and charge time reduction. However, with Great Sword natural ability to fill fatigue on weak markers and the abundance of SnC, Ovid appears to be the predominant one. Plus, if you haven't already gotten murdered by the lvl 400 tower behemoth's insane attack stats, damage reduction is a godsend on slow clunky Great Sword.
With that in mind, I came up with a few combinations to maximise the potential of your Flaming Sword
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3 Ovid Weapons + 2 Ovid Armors + 2 Golem Armors
Dmg dealt to Fatigue enemies+144%, Cleave Dmg+30%, Dmg when using Heat Gauge+30%, Dmg Reduction-30%
2 Ovid Weapons + 1 Golem Weapon + 4 Golem Armors
Dmg dealt to Fatigue enemies+96%, Cleave Dmg+78%, Dmg when using Heat Gauge+18%
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2 Ovid Weapons + 1 Golem Weapon + 2 Golem Armors + 2 Ovid Armors
Dmg dealt to Fatigue enemies+96%, Cleave Dmg+48%, Dmg when using Heat Gauge+48%, Dmg Reduction-30%, Cleave Charge Time-78%
Dmg dealt to Fatigue enemies+48%, Cleave Dmg+96%, Dmg when using Heat Gauge+36%, Cleave Charge Time-84%
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Shishui: Whaaaaat! Thank you Nezzy! ><
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Maths assumes Ovid equipment follows Lich ability rolls (+1+1 weapon and +3+3 armor)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Nezzy:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
100% Cleave combinations
Set A
(The better of the 2, this combination gives both damage and defense so you can utilise heat GS to it's full potential)3 Ovid Weapons + 2 Ovid Armors + 2 Golem Armors
Dmg dealt to Fatigue enemies+144%, Cleave Dmg+30%, Dmg when using Heat Gauge+30%, Dmg Reduction-30%
Set B
(The weaker of the 2, this combination gives you a exceptionally strong 1st cleave. As to what it's for, I'll let you do the guessing)2 Ovid Weapons + 1 Golem Weapon + 4 Golem Armors
Dmg dealt to Fatigue enemies+96%, Cleave Dmg+78%, Dmg when using Heat Gauge+18%
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Practical combinations
Set A
(The more ideal of the 3, prioritising damage and defense with slower charge time as tradeoff)2 Ovid Weapons + 1 Golem Weapon + 2 Golem Armors + 2 Ovid Armors
Dmg dealt to Fatigue enemies+96%, Cleave Dmg+48%, Dmg when using Heat Gauge+48%, Dmg Reduction-30%, Cleave Charge Time-78%
Set B
(Again, a set with prority on first cleave damage while forsaking the rest of the bonuses)
1 Ovid Weapon + 2 Golem Weapons + 4 Golem ArmorsDmg dealt to Fatigue enemies+48%, Cleave Dmg+96%, Dmg when using Heat Gauge+36%, Cleave Charge Time-84%
Set C
(If you prefer the near-instant charge time with slightly lesser damage, this set is for you)
2 Ovid Weapons + 1 Golem Weapon + 1 Ovid Armor + 3 Golem Armors Dmg dealt to Fatigue enemies+96%, Cleave Dmg+63%, Dmg when using Heat Gauge+36%, Dmg Reduction-15%, Cleave Charge Time-93%----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Of course, at the end of the day it's down to personal preference. Balance the sets accordingly to suit your playstyle. There is no one true best combination, only one true best fit.
Good luck for your pulls! Oh wait it's guaranteed!
Discussion: Quad Aegis
Today we have a special guest: Nezzy, who will be sharing with us his knowledge and opinion on the famous support magi, "Quad Aegis"!
ShiShui: Can you tell us a little bit about yourself Hunter?
Nezzy: Hi everyone! I'm Nezzy, a proud member of clan Dragon Project Singapore [DPS]! I started playing DP on Christmas 2017 and fell in love with this game from then on. I'm pretty much a dreamer/thinker in real life, so I like to spend most of my time theory crafting stuff on DP (I'm active in game too). My favourite weapon type is definitely Heat Bows - damage, support and flexibility all in one! I'll be working closely with Shishui in the future, so expect to see more of me!
ShiShui: I am so happy to have you here Nezzy!!
To start off.. Can you tell us a little bit about the Magi? (QA: Quad Aegis)
Nezzy: QA has been worshipped as THE support magi ever since Dragon Project existed. 200% shield and anti-stagger means you can go all out on behemoths without a care in the world. However, do remember most of the hype for QA comes from a time where few behemoths had rage (and even fewer had debuff moves).
ShiShui: When do you think QA will become obsolete due to these new mechanics?
Nezzy: It is noteworthy to point out behemoths of present and future will almost always have Rage mode (Tower/Arena above Lvl 150) as well as a debuff move (think Gory and Azdaja, Tzaran as well). Trying to build a playstyle around QA will pretty much become obsolete in a month or two's time. That being said, QA is indeed a powerful magi with little to no drawback. Relatively decent charge speed, fairly low cast time, and can be enhanced by stacking HP. Other than not being able to charge itself while in effect (which would break the game if it could honestly), status effect damages (burn, poison, freeze) DO pierce the shield, so take this into consideration.
Shishui: Hmm.. Since it is becoming obsolete soon.. Should we still pull for QA now?
Nezzy: Please do not assume I am trying to dissuade you to pull. Please do go ahead and pull for QA, it is a very valuable and worthy magi. What I mean to get across is QA should be used with careful deliberation. Used with timing and precision, it will allow you to deal aggression that would otherwise be impossible. Used carelessly, all you will be tanking is jellies and vaccas. Those Lvl 300 tower behemoths will still shred right through you (anti-stagger tends to invite extra hits).
Shishui: That was a great review on QA! Thank you for sharing with us Nezzy!
Nezzy: Thanks for reading all the way! Good luck with your pulls!

Discussion: Future Equipment Tier (ZanGod)
Shishui: Today we have ZanGod back as our guest again for another discussion! So.. Zan! In your previous discussion, Discussion: Future Equipment Banner Review (16/05/2018) (ft. ZanGod), you mentioned you categorised future equipment sets under "Tier 1, 2 and 3".. Can you tell us more about these "Tiers"?
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ZanGod: This is based on damage output perspective and considering factors like weapon magi slots, ability, armour ability, attack and passive magi. I will categorise them under each element.
(Click here for Future Equipment Info)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ZanGod: this is purely my own analysis so use it at your sole discretion

Discussion: Future Equipment Banner Review 1
Shishui: Our guest for today is ZanGod, who will be sharing with us his review and recommendations on whether the upcoming behemoth banner is worth summoning. From this, we can get an idea of the each banner and plan ahead on which banner to summon because we ain't got that much gems to summon every banner right?
Woo im excited! Hit it Zan! I mean.. Lets start the discussion!
Woo im excited! Hit it Zan! I mean.. Lets start the discussion!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ZanGod: this is purely my own analysis so use it at your sole discretion
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Fire Soul SNC + Earth Soul GS
ZanGod: Fire SNC is here!!! Ok we should know by now fire snc is tier 1 set and earth soul gs you can ignore (its not bad though). How many to get? Minimum 5. Can put 2 nura weps to it / wait for 2 future fire burst sns (magi play) / 7/7 if have a lot fire incants. The armour is really good and can mix with other snc weps (24% demon hold dmg + 24% soul gauge boost each!)
Value - 3/5 (got one junk)
Important - 5/5 (tier 1 fire + high usability with other sets)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ZanGod: First soul bow! Earth soul db can ignore. Thunder soul bow is tier 1 cause of zap (longest debuff). If you have thunder heat bow set can consider one wep or 3 for max dodge ability (86%!) I reckon will be better than light soul bow against dark with cloak, incants and zap!
Value - 2/5 (got one junk)
Important - 4/5 (tier 1 lightning)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ZanGod: Fire heat gs? No use if have fire snc. Can get one wep if you have the normal fire gs set. Water snc is pretty useless. Skip!
Value - 1/5 (both junks)
Important - 1/5 (one fire heat gs maybe)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ZanGod: Light and dark era! Light soul bow is tier 1 but dark soul spear is tier 2 only. Can consider just get 3 light soul bow (or even 1 if budget) and later match with light heat bow armour for 15% light magi gauge charge each. Otherwise pretty decent with its original armour too.
Value - 4/5 (both can be used)
Important - 5/5 (tier 1 light + high usability with other sets)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ZanGod: Earth snc and fire soul db. Hmm... Earth snc is tier 1. Can consider get 3 to mix with fire snc armour / with earth burst sns armour for 252% fatigue dmg. Can even consider 1 with 2 nura and burst sns armour for 420% fatigue dmg!) Fire soul db dmg is decent but need magician mark. Tier 2.
Value - 4/5 (both can be used)
Important - 4/5 (tier 1 earth)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ZanGod: First water burst gs. Not really a fan of it yet. Lightning soul spear is good and rated as tier 2 but not really a must if you have nura / thunder soul bow. Do consider skipping this to rest.
Value - 2/5
Important - 2/5
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ZanGod: Dark SNC and Light DB? Dark snc is tier 2 and light soul db is tier 1. Recommended to get 3 dark snc wep to match with fire snc armour. 7/7 light soul db can be considered.
Value - 5/5 (both are pretty good)
Important - 4/5 (tier 1 light)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ZanGod: Fire soul bow is Tier 2. Water soul spear can be skipped. Can consider skipping this banner unless really need fire soul bow.
Value - 2/5
Important - 3/5 (only if you need fire soul bow)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ZanGod: Finally! Water soul db! Absolute tier 1 wep. Double atk slots and 15% water magi gauge boost per armor! Lightning burst gs can ignore. Can skip if don’t play water.
Value - 3/5 (got one junk)
Important - 5/5 (tier 1 water + high usability with other sets)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ZanGod: Personal favourite. Light heat bow! Of course tier 1 too! As mentioned earlier you can mix light soul bow weps with light heat bow armour. 7/7 is a must to play heat bow unfortunately. Earth burst sns is very good as well 252% fatigue dmg armour and can use for earth snc. Recommend 5/7 with 2 nura wep for max fatigue dmg.
Value - 5/5
Important - 5/5 (Tier 1 light + high usability with other sets)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ZanGod: Personally this could be a banner to skip if you have 7/7 dark snc and 7/7 fire snc. If you don’t have both, this would be the perfect banner. Both dark soul gs and fire soul spear are tier 1. Dark soul gs has ridiculous abilities and fire soul spear is the fastest soul charge spear (143% soul gauge boost!) It has very high fire elemental atk as well!
Value - 5/5
Important - 5/5 (Dark and fire both tier 1)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ZanGod: Earth soul bow is best soul bow. It has soul gauge boost and also 15% magi boost on armour. Can even use its armour to mix with other soul bow. Good to have 7/7. Lightning burst sns. I can use the armour for my 3 wep nura but not really important. Can use 2 nura wep for this so 5/7 is good enough.
Value - 4/5
Important -5/5 (Tier 1 earth + high usability with other sets)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ZanGod: Light burst sns and dark burst gs? Both are pretty average. Skip this!
Value - 2/5
Important - 2/5
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ZanGod: Here comes our very first burst water db! Pretty fun but not sure how useful yet. If really want can get 3 wep and mix with water soul db armour with 15% magi boost. Fire burst sns not a must when you have fire snc / fire soul spear. No support slot means cannot maximise 2 stage magi dmg. Good to get 2 to support fire snc.
Value - 4/5 (both have some use)
Important - 3/5 (can just get 2-3 wep for both)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Shishui: Welp that is the end for this discussion! Thank you for sharing with us ZanGod! :D
