Future Magi Review (Dark 2 Stage)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dark Magi
カオスレギオ
Chaos Legio (2 Stage)
Stage 1: Spawns skeletons to deal dark damage
Stage 2: Summons a huge skull that swallows the enemy to deal dark damage, grants buff that nullifies and absorbs light damage for 10 seconds (like fire-ward) and lowers dark elemental resistance.
❈Invulnerability when casting
Comments:
There is a binding effect when the skeletons appear on cast, similar to Hade's Execution. However, Chaos Legio is far superior to the slow-cast Hade's Execution as the bind takes effect much faster and you are also invulnerable while casting the magi.
Chaos Legio is also the only dark elemental magi that decreases the enemy's dark elemental resistance. This effect makes Chaos Legio a very versatile magi choice as dark elemental weapons would be able to deal higher and more consistent damage against non-light behemoths, while also making quick work of light behemoths. This would be especially useful for beast tower for floors with varying elemental behemoths.
In addition, the invulnerability state while casting and the absorption of light damage for a short duration upon cast allows the user to ignore attacks while continuously dishing out damage. With the use of passive magis boosting magi charge rate such as darkness incarnations or Light and Dark Waltz, the invincible state against light behemoths can be maintained for a much larger proportion of time. As you get healed from damage taken while invincible, Chaos Legio is a huge step up compared to Schwartzlitter which merely nullifies the damage taken.
Overall, Chaos Legio is a top tier magi with many unique and powerful effects. The binding effect interrupts the behemoth, giving plenty of breathing space, the reduction in elemental resistance greatly increases damage and the short duration of invincibility gives an opportunity to spam attacks while healing from damage taken. However, the state of invincibility might be detrimental for weapon types requiring damage to be taken (burst SnS).

Stage 1: Summon an energy sphere above enemy to deal dark damage, erodes light enemy
Stage 2: Summon multiple energy spheres and deal dark damage in a larger AOE, also stagger enemy
❈Erosion damage increase according to awakening, to the max +50% (+10)
Comments:
This is the dark magi equivalent of this. Long range, fast cast, high damage, high damage-over-time and stagger utility makes this magi a great choice, especially against tanky light behemoths. It also outclasses Dragoon Lord Zenero for damage-over-time as erosion damage-over-time increases with awakening.

Dark Burst SNS (Single)
More information:
Dark Burst SNS
Karyu: The dark burst sns is the only burst sns that have RBR slot. It provides a very high sonic thrust dmg and burst mode dmg, along with some atk speed. It will be a great set if you can parry almost every hit. However, like Airgetlam, it doesn’t have any parry judge time, makes it very difficult to perform parry. A set that only performs well in the hands of player with good parrying skills.

Light Oracle GS + Fire Burst Bow
More information:
Light Oracle GS
Fire Burst Bow
Karyu: The light oracle gs is a better of its kind. It greatly boosts on Dive smash dmg, which is oracle gs’ main dps move. The stun duration increase is also helpful when you perform successful stun, since not only it’s easier for you to finish a large dps move, but also stunning is like restraining the behemoth, letting your teammates to perform large dps moves as well. Though oracle gs itself is pretty hard to use. Don’t recommend if you’re not good at predicting or dodging moves.
The fire burst bow concentrates more on magi spam due to the magi cast speed and double attack magi slot, allowing you to cast high dmg magi that’s usually having long cast, further improve dps. It’s quite similar to fire soul bow among other soul bow: longer mode duration but no charge speed. Therefore it takes a longer setup like the earth burst bow.

Dark Burst DB + Light Burst Spear
More information:
Dark Burst DB
Light Burst Spear
Karyu: The dark burst db heavily boosts your dps during Endless Waltz (burst db’s burst mode). It even have a longer burst mode duration. However, this also means it’s weak when you’re not in burst mode, as there isn’t any boost (burst gauge charge speed or atk speed) to charge up burst gauge safely. Though, no doubt it’s one of the best dps-bursting set in game.
The light burst spear goes with a balanced boost in both offense and defense like water burst spear, but with a shorter time to achieve max drilling boost, thanks to the ability that reduces time needed to reach max drill. The RGR magi slot is a tiny down side, as spear isn’t great in magi dmg, and burst spear is better to pair up with some particular support magi.

Water Burst Bow + Dark Heat Spear
More information:
Water Burst Bow
Dark Heat Spear
Karyu: The water burst bow is one of the best of its kind. High magi charge speed, long burst mode duration, explosion dmg and even high burst gauge charge speed. Basically everything that greatly benefits burst bow is in the set. The only 1 downside is that the total burst gauge charge is just around 2% difference to reach “max gauge charged with 3 arrows explosion”, the amount of arrows needed to manually explode arrows. But this can be solved with some crystal ability or passive magi.
The dark heat spear is….just a heat spear. It’s basically the mixed version of Magna and Gorynich, along with some onslaught dmg (which is useless). The dmg reduction covers up lack of survivability of heat spear, with high dark and jump dmg. Dmg is pretty high, but heat spear is hard to use in current and future era.

Fire Oracle GS + Earth Burst DB
More information:
Fire Oracle GS
Earth Burst DB
Karyu: The earth burst db have one of the best magi combinations for a burst db. Atk speed both in Twin and Sync Edge allows you to perform better burst gauge and magi charge, and better dps as well. The magi charge during Sync Edge allows you to maintain some particular magi buffs. One of the best sets you can get if you have the correct magi combinations.
The fire oracle gs is somewhat slightly better than mediocre. The Spin Smash dmg is useless as all dmg is concentrated into Dive Smash. The magi charge does help you to cast magi when needed, and atk speed allows you to charge into Dive Smash quicker. Not as good as the light oracle gs, but not bad either.

Lightning Oracle SNS + Water Oracle GS
More information:
Lightning Oracle SNS
Water Oracle GS
Karyu: The very first oracle sns. The oracle gauge charge speed helps a lot, since dmg barrier activates every time oracle mode is activated. Dragon Assault is also the main dps move for oracle sns. However, lack of atk speed makes it being a bit clunky. Though, there isn’t much great lightning sets, and lightning oracle sns no doubt is a better choice among those.
The water oracle gs is one of the best of its kind. It have high dmg boost in general. Not only it has attack speed to finish attacks quicker, but also greatly reduces the Dive Smash charge time, as the time while charging is quite fatal. These abilities makes it way easier for oracle gs to compete with other sets.

Light Burst Bow + Fire Oracle SNS
More information:
Light Burst Bow
Fire Oracle SNS
Karyu: The light burst bow is literally “the light soul bow amongst other soul bows”. It has high burst gauge charge speed, enough for you to fully charge burst gauge with 1 manual explosion (3 arrows). It also has high burst mode dmg, which is helpful when the burst gauge charge speed is high. A very strong set in general.
The fire oracle sns is not bad either. High Dragon Assault dmg on the armor and Oracle mode dmg on the weapon. Most interestingly there’s Warp distance increase, which greatly improves the mobility of oracle sns, especially in dodging. What’s better is that this set can be paired up with Ayame the fire soul sns, a great weapon that provides attack speed and fire dmg, even sacrificing some oracle mode dmg and drain speed reduction. One of the rare sets that DOESN’T require a full set.

More information:
Earth Burst Spear
Dark Heat Bow
Karyu: The earth burst spear is another strong set. High dmg boost when reaching max drill, high aerial shot dmg (which is your main dps move), and reduces time needed to reach max drill. A dmg concentrated set like the fire burst spear.
The dark heat bow is another good set for highly skilled heat bow players. It even have longer restrain duration than Maximus, and also Dmg during restrain for better dmg boost. Unlike Maximus it has a more balanced magi slot, but since it has heal slot it has a better survivability than Maximus.

All you need to know about Altair Sphere!
Hey guys, it’s Deranged here! Today I shall be talking about one of the most popular
defensive support magi, Altair Sphere! While many players use this magi, not
many know how it fully works!
Magi Description: “Places shield that blocks attacks, status ailments & restraining attacks for 60s. Immune to damage, staggering & faster reviving when shielded. *Shield is unaffected by your stats & doesn’t prevent damage higher than it. Only one shield can be active.”
In addition, the durability of the shield is fixed, and not affected by your max HP or defense. What this means is that this magi is especially strong if you do not have good SS armour or HP passives! Take a look at these short comparison clips, showing how the shield holds up strong even when wearing little or no armour!
Magi Description: “Places shield that blocks attacks, status ailments & restraining attacks for 60s. Immune to damage, staggering & faster reviving when shielded. *Shield is unaffected by your stats & doesn’t prevent damage higher than it. Only one shield can be active.”
How it works
When you cast the magi, a shield appears on the spot you are at. While standing in the shield, you are immune to all kinds of status effects and damage. This effect applies for everyone in the shield, including your party members. However, you can still be pushed out of the sphere, so beware! In addition, the durability of the shield is fixed, and not affected by your max HP or defense. What this means is that this magi is especially strong if you do not have good SS armour or HP passives! Take a look at these short comparison clips, showing how the shield holds up strong even when wearing little or no armour!
Shield barely scratched from multiple attacks! Instant death from 1 attack
This magi takes 120s of idle time to charge fully, similar to cloaks and quad/vita aegis. Unlike the Aegis magis, an added advantage of Altair Sphere is that you can charge it while the shield is up! Of course, this does not mean that you can continually cast the magi, as only 1 shield can be active per player at any time. Also, the durability of the shield can deplete from behemoth attacks, even if you're not inside the shield! Therefore, make sure to cast the shield only when you need it.
Weapon type compatibility
As you have to be in the immovable shield for its effect to take place, this magi is especially useful for weapon types that can attack from range, not having to move as much. On the other hand, weapons with shorter range do not benefit as much.

Tips & Tricks
Rage can be pretty annoying at times. The behemoth is down to its last stretch, but dispels all your buffs and becomes incredibly resistant to magi damage. Fret not, you are immune to the dispel effect while standing in the shield! Protect you and your teammates' buffs from the dispel to burst down the behemoth for the final victory!
While Altair Shield has a fixed durability, the player does not receive any additional damage when the shield breaks. This makes it especially nifty for tanking behemoth ultimates. However, use with caution as behemoths may have multi-hit ultimates that break the shield on its first hit.

Discussion: Future Equipment Banner Review 2
Shishui: Hey readers! The previous Future Equipment Banner Review article by Zangod ended at the Dark Burst Great Sword and Light Burst Sword and Shield Banner.. which is just released 2 weeks ago in Global.
So it's time to do a new update with someone i bet you all know :3
You got that right! It's Karyu! This is Karyu's 2nd time appearing in this blog for discussions! (Karyu has also provided all the equipment stats for the blog :3)
He is a JP player (so he basically lives in the future) who had experienced and gained alot of insights and knowledge about each and every equipment, which makes him the perfect person i can get to do this kind of reviews!
From this, we can get an idea of the each banner and plan ahead on which banner to summon because we ain't got that much gems to summon every banner right?

More information:
Water Burst DB
Karyu: The fire burst sns is a strong set. The parry judge ability is in the same ability as fire dmg, which allows you to have both high fire dmg and parry judge time. It have double attack magi slot, and with the magi charge on wep you can further enhance your magi spamming. Definitely a good fire set to get. As for water burst db, it’s quite straight and narrow with its ability. It have high burst gauge charge which is very good for burst db, but boost for sync edge dmg is rather low. Therefore it’s mainly long time in burst mode but dps is not as high (just like wycana among all snc). However, you may pair up with 4 savern armor for a magi spam playstyle.

Karyu: The earth burst gs is one of the best of its kind. Bullet increase that is on weapon, a total of +60% reload speed and bombard dmg are the essential abilities on a burst gs. With full set you can dish out some high dps. The weapon itself can be sub into other burst gs sets for the bullet increase and reload speed. As for water soul bow, it’s the only soul bow that increase the lock-on limit. However, lack of soul charge makes it hard to deal high dmg. The anti-burn on weapon is also useless, wasting an ability. Though, it’s still a soul bow. Not bad if you lack a good water set.

Light Burst DB + Dark Burst Spear
More information:
Dark Burst Spear
Karyu: The light burst db is one of the best. It provides high sync edge dmg and atk speed during endless waltz, very ideal for burst db to deal high dps. There’s also atk speed during twin edge so it’s easier to charge burst gauge. However, it’s quite hard to use burst db, and this set doesn’t have heal slot, which in some way is a glass cannon set. The burst spear is a strong set as well. It provides burst gauge charge speed to reduce the blank timing between your attacks, as drilling takes up your burst gauge fast. With faster gauge recharge you can perform drilling in a shorter time. Other abilities are pretty general, but is enough to support the set.

There’s casting speed on armor as well, which reduces the risk of you get interrupted while casting magi (especially 2 stage and QA etc). The disadvantage is quite obvious: takes long time to reload, which might be fatal in high difficulty fights. The lightning burst db concentrates on fatigue dmg, which is not good as most behemoths have short fatigue time.

Fire Burst DB + Water Burst Spear
More information:
Fire Burst DB
Water Burst Spear
Karyu: The fire burst db allows you to charge magi fast and safely due to the magi charge speed and dmg reduction during Twin edge. It also extends the duration of burst mode and allow you to dish out high dmg at a longer time, but very weak while charging burst gauge back. Better go for magi spamming. The water burst spear is very good, as it reduces the burst gauge needed to deal maximum drilling dmg. There’s also dmg reduction when using spin shield. A set that that’s good at offensive and defensive.

Earth Soul Spear + Dark Burst Bow
More information:
Earth Soul Spear
Dark Burst Bow
Karyu: Soul spear unfortunately is already a weak weapon as it’s doesn’t have any good defensive mech, especially facing later behemoths, but the earth soul spear have what it needs to be strong. It have atk speed, soul mode dmg, and even soul gauge drain reduction, allowing you to stay longer in soul mode in order to provide large dps. The dark burst bow is kind of average, just like those that are first of its kind. Burst gauge charge speed is not enough to let you enter burst mode directly with 3 arrows, so it needs longer warm up than other sets. The set also goes with arrow rain style rather than shooting explosion arrows, as the set have almost doubled the amount of arrows in arrow rain, but not any explosion dmg. It’s slightly better than mediocre in general.

Water Burst SNS + Lightning Oracle GS
More information:
Water Burst SNS
Lightning Oracle GS
Karyu: Water burst sns is the only burst sns that have RBB slot, which allows you to pair with both offensive and defensive support magi. It also have high atk speed with longer burst mode, allowing you to dish out high dps with burst mode normal combo. However, since it’s still burst sns, you need to keep healing as you’re tanking hits. Lack of heal slot might lead to often death if you aren’t good enough at parry. A strong set that requires skills. The lightning oracle gs could be ignored, as most of its ability is not as helpful to oracle gs.

More information:
Earth Burst Bow
Fire Burst Spear
Karyu: The fire burst spear is a dmg concentrated set, as it provides high dmg boost when reaching max drill. The burst gauge charge speed is good as it reduces the blank window between attacks. Just beware that it doesn’t have dmg reduction as the previous 2 burst spear sets. The earth burst bow is a good set in general, as it gives burst mode dmg and explosion dmg. The arrow increase in arrow rain can be ignored when there’s explosion dmg. While it provides good dmg boost, there isn’t any burst gauge charge speed. Therefore it’s a set that needs long warm up time in order to start dealing good dmg.

Discussion: BYP Halloween Magi Series
Shishui: Trick or treat? It's Halloween! One of the most exciting and fun days of the year full of costumes, decorations, trick-or-treating and Exclusive Behemoth/Magi..
Nezzy: Boo! 👻
Shishui: NEZZY! Oh my heart!.. 😨
Wait what was i saying?...
Ah.. Exclusive Behemoth/Magi banners for Halloween!! :3
Shishui: And you know what that means?! Nezzy is back with a magi review for the Halloween Banner >:3
Nezzy: This is gonna be one crazy magi review 😂
Shishui: How crazy?
Nezzy: You'll see...
Before You Pokkai: Broom Torpedo Series
(the naming convention for this series is so whack honestly)
Shishui: Oh god.. Time to show my translation skills >:3
Pokkai means Broke. So the title reads: "Before you get broke!" 😂
Nezzy: 😂😂😂
Harry Potter (aka Broom Torpedo)
Old and low magi damage, minor magi charge (and by minor I mean teeny weeny little bit), but generous with iframes. You can probably get creative with your magic broomstick with dodging stuff, but honestly this magi belongs more in a museum than a banner. Too little too late.Food Wastage (aka Jack-o'-Lantern Bomb)
Ok I don't know if it's just BoboTofu or the magi itself (99% Bobo), but there seems to be some targetting issue in the preview. (B̶o̶b̶o̶ ̶m̶e̶a̶n̶s̶ ̶d̶u̶m̶b̶ and the IGN of character doing the showcase is "Tofu") And yes, it's a mid-range aoe-but-not-really-aoe magi with no tracking. Expect to miss against hyperactive buggers once in a while. Still, damage is decent and it's one of the few magi that can afflict poison. Has a fairly slow charge and cast time, remember to bring your own anti-stagger to avoid disappointment. Worth a gamble if you're drowning in gems, otherwise sit tight for earth stage 2.![]() |
| Image of BoboTofu missing the target |
好兄弟 (aka Ghost Brothers)
Nezzy: Sorry I couldn't help myself.. 😂Send your offerings and respects to your teammates who will inevitably RIP when they don't realise the anti-stagger buff and get destroyed by multi hit attacks. No but seriously, this magi is super helpful in longer fights (Tower, Battle Rush, Defense) since you are free to cast anywhere and the ghost will auto track your allies down, so you can heal those in need without running around like a madman. Fast charge speed means you can constantly keep the heals going whenever needed. Teammates without heal slots will LOVE you for this, teammates with heal slots will still be grateful to you all the same. But accidents do happen with anti-stagger, so be aware of what behemoths you are facing when using this
Let It Go~ (aka Frozen Nova)
(Nezzy Singing)Let it go~ , Can't hold it back anymore~
Let it go~ , Let it go~ , Turn away and slam the door~
They don't care, what we want to pull~
Let the salt rage on~
My gems never bothered me anyway~
Shishui: Now the song is gonna be stuck in my head for the next 3 days LOL Thank you Nezzy for the reviews! Looking forward to see another episode of BYP soon! 😍
When Halloween is here the monsters appear and the gems disappear.Keep calm, trick or treat, summon and carry on.May the ghost be with you.

Discussion: BYP Altair Sphere
Nezzy: Hi all, I’m back (finally) with a new magi review! That’s right! The long awaited and coveted Altair Sphere has arrived in DP! Are you ready for some exciting magi play and crazy damage immunity?
Shishui: YAS Nezzy is finally back!!! 😍😍😍
Nezzy: Without further ado..
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Disclaimer
I don't include ratings for one simple reason. At the end of the day, you are the player. Not the person who wrote the review, not your friends, not the community. Decide for yourself what is worth the gems and what is trivial. The best guide is always the heart.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Altair Sphere : The Pocket Fortress
(it's closer to a hexagonal geodesic dome with a decagonal base but hey, sphere is much shorter)
General Stats:
Type : Support
Charge Time : 110
Cast Speed : 0 + 2 (sphere appears instantly on cast)
Duration : 60
Durability : 10,000 (sphere has 0 DEF)
Altair Sphere (AS) is the first magi that allows hunters to setup a defensive AOE that grants all allies immunity from attacks as well as increased revive speed inside the sphere. With a decent charge time and superior cast speed, AS is extremely flexible and can be utilised in both offensive and defensive scenarios.
Special Notes:
- Only 1 Sphere can exist per hunter, but there is no limit to number of spheres on the field
- Sphere takes damage regardless whether there is a hunter in the sphere
- Spheres are not removed by debuffs, only by damage or expiration
- Hunters within the sphere are still affected by repositioning effects
- Hunters affected by status ailments will still take status damage within the sphere
- The previously casted sphere will disappear upon re-cast and a new sphere is created
- You do not take hits within the sphere, so on-hit effects will not trigger
Top 2 Weapon Synergy:
Soul Bow: S-bows are the biggest beneficiaries of AS. S-bows possess innately high DPS and magi charge rate, but are afflicted with poor defensive options. AS remedies that weakness by providing Sbow users with much-needed cover, and sync perfectly with their high magi charge rate, coupled with amazing cast speed to minimise lost in DPS. Also, Sbows are naturally immobile which pairs well with the static AOE of AS.
Soul Dual Blades: S-DBs will love AS without a doubt. S-DBs revolve around a magi spam playstyle, boasting insane magi charge rate. However, their Achilles Heel is that S-DBs lose soul gauge upon getting hit, and Demon Blast traps the user in animation, which leaves them vulnerable to attacks. Up till today, defensive magis only provide heals and anti-stagger, none of which solve the dilemma of S-DBs. AS is the godsend S-DBs have been waiting for, providing on-demand damage immunity, allowing them space to Demon Blast and cast magi without fear of disruption.
But even if you don’t play the above weapons, fret not! Like I said, AS is extremely flexible and you can definitely find a situation where it comes in handy. Need space to cast magi? Need a shield from ultimates? Need to get up close and personal? AS is not always the best solution, but is a sure candidate for most situations.

Good luck for your pulls!

Discussion: BYP Eingram and Guardian
The time has finally come for the Ancient Automatons : Eingram and Guardian to arise from their slumber and emerge in the lands of Heiland! Raging Eingram will grant you the strength of the Primal Stone Fire Heat GS, and Sentry Guardian unleashes your fervour with the Ceremonial Water SnC. Are you ready to acquire the power of ancient technology?
Shishui: YAAAAAAS!
Nezzy: Well, let's dive straight into the individual review of each equipment sets!
Eingram : Fire Heat GS
I'm sure everyone is familiar with Lich GS by now. In essence, Eingram GS is an offensive counterpart to Lich GS which is the defensive counterpart. Boasting a grand total of +114% Cleave damage, and bonus +54% damage on Heat bar usage, Eingram GS packs a relentless punch against unsuspecting enemies. The weapon is endowed with double support magi slots, which enables unique combinations of both offensive and defensive support options so that you can fully optimise your playstyle, including the infamous Venom Guard + Smite Sprite combo. The only distinct downside to Eingram GS is the lack of survivability options. With no defensive abilities and no heal magi slot, you will be relying heavily on your support magi and dodging skills to stay alive. However, in a team setting this can be compensated by AoE heals from allies.
Summary : A powerful set that requires min-maxing and strong control to fully realise its potential. A top-tier choice, not recommended for uninvested players.
Guardian : Water SnC
Sadly, this is another set that has fallen at the hands of the merciless meta. Guardian SnC does possess a respectable +63% damage boost during Soul mode, along with +63% dodge distance for better maneuverability. What is lacking however, is that the set does not have any Soul charge speed or attack speed, leading to unstable damage output. To maximise the potential of Guardian SnC, you will need to adopt a burst-type playstyle by investing all your offense into the short span of Soul mode duration you have. Very high effort, low reward which is unfavourable due to the plethora of superior options out there. However, I must say this. That equipment design is absolutely beautiful! Definitely worth collecting just for fashion! (may be my biased opinion, don't think too much into this point)
Summary : Not the best, but definitely servicable. It does help that SnC is and will be one of the most powerful weapon classes for quite a period, thus this makes Guardian SnC still a viable water element option.
Thanks for reading!
Good luck for your pulls!

Discussion: Status Effects on Behemoth
Today we have a special guest: Karyu, who will be sharing with us his knowledge of status effects performed on behemoths!
ShiShui: Can you tell us a little bit about yourself Hunter?
Karyu: Hi there! I am Karyu. I believe some might heard about me but I'll introduce myself again. I am currently the main admin of DP discord community server and also the leader of LR - Lux Regalia. I've been playing Dragon Project since the start of release in JP server. DP is definitely one of my favorite game on mobile platform, since it have fairly easier control and gameplay, and the style is really suitable. I believe most people who played Monster Hunter before will understand how you love this similar game style. As for my hobby in DP, I do love sharing thoughts about mechanics of the game to others. I don't have a particular weapon that I like, therefore I enjoy using each weapon and each type. Making the database is one of my biggest satisfaction to contribute to the global server, and I glad it helped out a lot of players by planning their future sets. However, there are something that the database didn't cover. Therefore today I'm glad Shishui had invite me to here, and I will be talking about status effects performed on behemoths.
ShiShui: I cant wait to learn from you Karyu!!
Shishui: Hmm.. I know there are status ailments like Paralyze, Poison, Burn that we can inflict on the behemoth.. And the level of effectiveness towards different elemental behemoth varies right? Can you tell us more about that?
Karyu: There are a varieties of status effect exist in DP, both on characters and behemoths. Here is a chart that shows the effectiveness of each status effect (and I included the future status as well)
Karyu: As you can see, the status effects are divided into 3 categories. The effectiveness will affect the speed of applying the status onto the behemoth. The "No effect" category are specific status that could only apply to specific elemented behemoth, while the others are general status.
Karyu: Before talking more about effectiveness, I'm sure that most people misunderstand how status effect works. They don't apply by chance (e.g. you have 10% chance to paralyze this behemoth), but as rate (in terms of qunatity) instead. Imagine there is a hidden gauge for each (general) status similar to the fatigue gauge that is directly shown under the behemoths' HP bar. By casting attack that imflicts status effect, you will gradually fill up the status gauge according to the fill rate that each attack gives.
Shishui: Wow that's interesting! 😲 If thats the case.. Does that mean the rate of filling up the "Status gauge" varies accordingly to whether they come under the "Effective" column or "Highly resisted" column? How does it work?
Karyu: Yes, now back to the chart I just showed you. Each behemoth element have their own resistance to each status effect. Therefore, the "Effective" category is status that the element don't resist as much (or close to none), in other words, it don't interfere the status effect fill rate. On the other hand, the "Highly resisted" category is where the element greatly lowers the fill rate of that status. This is why it takes so many attacks in order to paralyze a lightning or earth behemoth (yes they can be paralyze, not impossible), or to freeze a lightning or water behemoth. There is a great misunderstanding that some general status won't apply to some element, which is wrong.
Shishui: Wait.. I have a burning question!! Does Thundering Hysteria fill the "Status gauge" faster than Neurotoxin since one is ranked SS and the other is ranked B?.. It's weird that i felt no difference between using the two x.x
Karyu: Just as mentioned, the fill rate depends on the attack, no matter from magi or from your own attack. And yes, I'm gonna quickly touch on Neurotoxin and Thundering Hysteria. Both magi grants you the ability where weapon can fill up paralyze. However, the fill rate doesn't depend on the rarity of the magi, but the attack you perform, which means both magi only gives the paralyze enchant, but Thundering Hysteria doesn't have a "higher rank" paralyze imagined by some people. What do I mean by the attack performed is basically the mechanics of the weapon. Normal attack tends to give lower fill rate, whereas some charge attack or dodge attack gives higher fill rate. Just for example, if you compare a full normal combo from a db and lethal draw from soul gs, you'll find that soul gs easily paralyze the behemoth in 3-4 LD on water and fire behe, whereas it takes about 5-6 full sets of normal combo (and fully hit) on db. You may want to try out and you'll see what I mean.
Shishui: Welp.. There goes my Thundering Hysteria.. a fodder 😐
Shishui: Does the rate of filling up the "Status gauge" decrease the next time i inflict the same status ailment on the behemoth?
Karyu: As for element-specific status, it doesn't work in a similar way. Yes, you will find that the more times you inflict the same status on a behemoth, the resistance gets higher everytime and it takes more time to apply the status again. However, for element-specific status, you will find that it applies every time you hit. Since they only work on 1 element, they are guaranteed that the status is applied. Therefore you will see your Falling Stars burn earth behemoths everytime it lands, or shock a water behemoth to get it knocked back like a noob.
Note: Holy bind needs to stack up the number of attacks in order to bind a dark behemoth
Shishui: Ahhhh i see i see!! What about rage mode? Does it affect the rate of filling the "Status gauge" too?
Karyu: Rage is another main factor that affect status effect. As behemoth enters rage mode, magi damage dealt on behemoth is reduced by 75%, and their resistance to general status are greatly increased. Some might experience that it takes a lot of paralyze hit to paralyze a water behemoth after it rages. Just imagine the "Effective" category moves to "Highly resisted". This also works to fatigue, and it's quite noticable that the fatigue fill rate gets lower once the behemoth rages. However, element-specific status can still guarantee applied onto a raged behemoth.
Shishui: Wow i definitely learnt alot from you today! Thank you for sharing with us Karyu!
Karyu: Thank you for your time in reading this sea of words. Hope you guys won't get buzzed by the essay and find it useful!

Discussion: Grinning Sisters; Ayame and Yurami!? BYP!
Shishui: Welcome to another episode of..
Nezzy: After an endless barrage of revivals and revamps, the Grinning Sisters : Ayame and Yurami have finally broken the curse cycle and graced us with their presence in Heiland. Ayame's Fire SnC and Yurami's Earth Soul GS are one of the more coveted sets in DP history. In fact, if you are a regular patron of Shishui's blog or Karyu's database, you will know that many veterans from both global and JP give very high ratings for the sisters.
Shishui: All hail Fire SNC!!! (Voice echo-ing in the background)
Nezzy: But hold your impulse hunter! While the community has pretty much agreed the sisters' sets are golden goods, majority of us have neglected to consider the flip side. What are the potential weaknesses or drawbacks of the sets? Luckily for you, I've already done the thinking.
Bonus attack speed means your combo time is shortened drastically, which translates to more hits and faster fatigues! Superior aggression! Sounds good right? Here's the trade off : Faster combo time equals lesser iframe duration. If you're one of those spoilt plebs used to dodging behemoth attacks with SnC's long iframes, you may find yourself in an awkward spot. On top of that, you will have lesser delay time to decide which swing finisher to end with. Not a major problem, but one you might stumble on when trying to maximise your damage output.
Downside? Soul GS's innate weakness of having a linear attack pattern, leading to a rather rigid playstyle, and the fact that the set has weak mobility, which results in a technically demanding yet deceivingly simple weapon.
Before You Pull (BYP)
By Nezzy! 😍
Shishui: Yup this series is gonna be called "Before you pull" because you must read it before you pull.. Ok lets cut my nonsense and pass this on to Nezzy!

Nezzy: But hold your impulse hunter! While the community has pretty much agreed the sisters' sets are golden goods, majority of us have neglected to consider the flip side. What are the potential weaknesses or drawbacks of the sets? Luckily for you, I've already done the thinking.
Who doesn't love a little controversy?
Ayame : Fire SnC
For majority of hunters, the limelight falls onto the armour pieces. Boasting 24% soul charge AND 24% soul mode damage, it is without doubt one of the best snc abilities around. On the other hand, the weapon grants 22% attack speed, a very interesting ability when put on SnC. Allow me to explain why.Bonus attack speed means your combo time is shortened drastically, which translates to more hits and faster fatigues!
Yurami : Earth Soul GS
Perhaps the less popular due to popular opinion that soul GS is bad. But I assure you, Yurami is a cleave cut above the rest. In a full 7/7, her stellar 73% lethal draw reduction and 66% soul charge is what defines the set. This combination empowers you with shorter downtime for soul mode and maximises the damage output of lethal draw. The ability to spam high damage lethal draws means more reliable dps and faster magi charge.Downside? Soul GS's innate weakness of having a linear attack pattern, leading to a rather rigid playstyle, and the fact that the set has weak mobility, which results in a technically demanding yet deceivingly simple weapon.
And that's about all from me! Hope you had a good read and managed to takeaway something yourself!
Good luck for your pulls!

Discussion: Ovidium (Evolution) Set VS Golem Set
Hey guys! Some of you might be wondering if you should pull for Golden Ovidium Set.. Or wait for the future Fire Heat GS instead.. Fret not because we have Nezzy here who will be sharing with everyone his analysis/review for the set!
Nezzy: With the new heat Ovid evolution returning in a guaranteed SS banner, you might be wondering how it measures up to the future Fire Heat GS (Golem), and any possible combinations to bring out their full potential. Fret not, I skipped breakfast to do this did the math for you.
Shishui: Whaaaaat! Thank you Nezzy! ><
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Nezzy:
Ovid Weapon : Fire Dmg+42%, Dmg dealt to Fatigue enemies+48%, Cleave Charge Time-24%
Golem Weapon : Fire Dmg+42%, Cleave Dmg+18%, Dmg when using Heat Gauge+18%
Ovid Armor : Fire Dmg+45%, Dmg Reduction-15%, Dmg when using Heat Gauge+15%
Golem Armor : Fire Dmg+45%, Cleave Dmg+15%, Cleave Charge Time-15%
7/7 Ovid : Dmg dealt to Fatigue enemies+144%, Dmg when using Heat Gauge+60%, Dmg Reduction-60%, Cleave Charge Time-72%
7/7 Golem : Cleave Dmg+114%, Dmg when using Heat Gauge+54%, Cleave Charge Time-60%
As we can see, while Ovid's full output is limited to fatigue, he has the edge over Golem in terms of defensive abilities and charge time reduction. However, with Great Sword natural ability to fill fatigue on weak markers and the abundance of SnC, Ovid appears to be the predominant one. Plus, if you haven't already gotten murdered by the lvl 400 tower behemoth's insane attack stats, damage reduction is a godsend on slow clunky Great Sword.
With that in mind, I came up with a few combinations to maximise the potential of your Flaming Sword
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3 Ovid Weapons + 2 Ovid Armors + 2 Golem Armors
Dmg dealt to Fatigue enemies+144%, Cleave Dmg+30%, Dmg when using Heat Gauge+30%, Dmg Reduction-30%
2 Ovid Weapons + 1 Golem Weapon + 4 Golem Armors
Dmg dealt to Fatigue enemies+96%, Cleave Dmg+78%, Dmg when using Heat Gauge+18%
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2 Ovid Weapons + 1 Golem Weapon + 2 Golem Armors + 2 Ovid Armors
Dmg dealt to Fatigue enemies+96%, Cleave Dmg+48%, Dmg when using Heat Gauge+48%, Dmg Reduction-30%, Cleave Charge Time-78%
Dmg dealt to Fatigue enemies+48%, Cleave Dmg+96%, Dmg when using Heat Gauge+36%, Cleave Charge Time-84%
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Shishui: Whaaaaat! Thank you Nezzy! ><
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Maths assumes Ovid equipment follows Lich ability rolls (+1+1 weapon and +3+3 armor)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Nezzy:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
100% Cleave combinations
Set A
(The better of the 2, this combination gives both damage and defense so you can utilise heat GS to it's full potential)3 Ovid Weapons + 2 Ovid Armors + 2 Golem Armors
Dmg dealt to Fatigue enemies+144%, Cleave Dmg+30%, Dmg when using Heat Gauge+30%, Dmg Reduction-30%
Set B
(The weaker of the 2, this combination gives you a exceptionally strong 1st cleave. As to what it's for, I'll let you do the guessing)2 Ovid Weapons + 1 Golem Weapon + 4 Golem Armors
Dmg dealt to Fatigue enemies+96%, Cleave Dmg+78%, Dmg when using Heat Gauge+18%
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Practical combinations
Set A
(The more ideal of the 3, prioritising damage and defense with slower charge time as tradeoff)2 Ovid Weapons + 1 Golem Weapon + 2 Golem Armors + 2 Ovid Armors
Dmg dealt to Fatigue enemies+96%, Cleave Dmg+48%, Dmg when using Heat Gauge+48%, Dmg Reduction-30%, Cleave Charge Time-78%
Set B
(Again, a set with prority on first cleave damage while forsaking the rest of the bonuses)
1 Ovid Weapon + 2 Golem Weapons + 4 Golem ArmorsDmg dealt to Fatigue enemies+48%, Cleave Dmg+96%, Dmg when using Heat Gauge+36%, Cleave Charge Time-84%
Set C
(If you prefer the near-instant charge time with slightly lesser damage, this set is for you)
2 Ovid Weapons + 1 Golem Weapon + 1 Ovid Armor + 3 Golem Armors Dmg dealt to Fatigue enemies+96%, Cleave Dmg+63%, Dmg when using Heat Gauge+36%, Dmg Reduction-15%, Cleave Charge Time-93%----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Of course, at the end of the day it's down to personal preference. Balance the sets accordingly to suit your playstyle. There is no one true best combination, only one true best fit.
Good luck for your pulls! Oh wait it's guaranteed!
