Kenshin: Because the equips we wore were all purple 😂
Shishui: Ohhhhhhhh LOLOL Why didnt i think of that! 😂
Shishui: What are some challenges you faced when tackling floor 166~170? What went right and what did u struggled with?
Lanesra: With a few Things namely bugs, finding a 4th weapon (see point 5), dc (mostly when behemoths raged) and bad RNG.
Kenshin: Levi and mercurius was a nightmare. The paralysis from levi and whirlpool from mercurius cost us alot of good runs, like in the +11:30 mark. The things that went right for us is knowing when to attack when levi and mercurius went into rage mode. Especially mercurius, Perfect timing is crucial as you all know what comes after, WHIRLPOOL
Nemesis: Our first 1~20 runs were smooth, gotten some very good timing (averaging on 10.30-10.50) so we decided on the possibility of 11.30 as our main target. Starting from 20ish runs onwards, things started to go downhill, and for some reason there is always ALWAYS 1 or 2 or 3 of us dc'ed mid-fight. That, paired with Mercurius whirlpool, really taken a tool on our morale, at least for another hundred tries or so. Overall the stage was not "hard", it's some of the moves of behemoth that makes time attack frustrating, to say the least.
Puddin: Our challenges for the final were more related to the weapons rule change than the level itself, although the Mercurius whirlpool was something we had to overcome to get a good time.
Shishui: How did u tackle those challenges?
Lanesra: For the Bugs and Dc (which seemed related) we couldnt really do anytging about it we just kept playing and hoped for the best also since I didnt seem to have the DC problem I decided for our last ~10 runs to step out of my confort zone and tryed to play spear which surprisingly worked pretty well. As for RNG we just smashed the retry button.
Kenshin: Well, it took us almost 150 runs to perfected our runs. Trials and errors, lessons learned from our supporting clan members assisted in our runs also.
Nemesis: Don't sleep. Hahahahaha. Jokes aside, we've revised alot of plan on how to tackle the stage, specifically Mercurius. There will always be times when everything went great (parts, time consumption, line-up, etc), and Merc/Levi just came in and tell us "No, not today, noobs". Gotta say luck plays a huge part.
Puddin: By working as a team we came up with our best weapons combo & a strategy to beat the whirlpool.
Shishui: Can u share with us some cool tips and tricks used for the behemoths in tower?
Lanesra: Mercurius: A Thalmus spear and Jupiters descend really works wonders here since you can paralyse it and with a bit luck also avoid the whirlpool attack by 1shoting the behe with a full heat gauge. Levi: Have a good Lich user helps quite a lot. But also other sets would do but having an earth set is important for him since he can paralyse (which is annoying) and has a lot of elemental defense vs everything not earth.
Kenshin: A strategy that our team utilized was letting my team break all the parts and I as a lich user kill the behe after rage, this applies to almost every behe in 166-170, except levi, I go straight for the kill.
Nemesis: In all honesty, there's not many "tips" to be said on that stage, aside the usual "Kill it, and kill it fast".
P/s: Carniva/Trumpa's "hook" are harder to break compared to their "hands".
Puddin: Most of them are straightforward, so not many tips other than play as a team to take advantage of everyone's strengths.
Shishui: What was your motivation for BOTG3?
Lanesra: Quite a few things There were for one my friends cheering for me and I also wanted to put a fight up with the big names to prove that i have the compareable skill to them.
Kenshin: Our motivation for botg were our fans. They were very supportive of us so we wanted to show our appreciation by trying to win botg. So thank you for all of your support!!
Nemesis: With all these restrictions, players are at about their equal. No, abusing of 1hko stuff, so it's always fun to see how far we can actually go. I've received numerous message (whether in-game or out) telling me not to let them down (over half were strangers), so this kinda adds some positive stress and the much needed motivation.
P/s: We are supposedly not the winning team based on some people, and this further push us to do what we can actually do.
Puddin: My motivation was all the people that offered encouragement & said they were voting for us.
Shishui: How did u feel about the new rule change between the Qualifier and the Final round?
Lanesra: Well you know me Shishui im most prevalent with Heat DB. and our tactic also was till the rule change to stick with me as Heat DB user. But since they changed the rules we were quite in a tough spot since i think many ppl know that sdb, snc and hgs are the best weapons this prevented using pretty much everything besides heat bow and heat spear for most. And Puddin switched to both this weapons for most of our runs but dc Problems good runs.
A bigger Problem i found that the Behemoths from this final stage were pretty much identical to the last botg where the fish, and both snakes also were prevalent.
Kenshin: It is definitely a challenge for us on the rule changing in the finals. We tried out so many different equipment sets during our runs and finally found the correct combo for it on our last day of botg.
Nemesis: It came as a surprise, but was to be expected since it's finals. We struggled abit trying to test out who should use what weapons, and this went on until our ~120+ tries. Lanesra (the renowned HDB specialist in the game) volunteered to test out heat spears, and to our surprise hit best times (in which the team are still not satisfied yet). Afew more tries after and we're happy.
Puddin: The rules change was a surprise & required some experimentation of weapons lineup to get a good time.
Shishui: What did u learn from BOTG3?
Lanesra: From botg... mostly that i seemingly rock heat spears besides only having made ~ 250 skyfalls to date joy but in my work for your blog i dodged the Leviathan before Botg 3 for 10minutes continously which helped me quite a lot!
Kenshin: Botg definitely taught us teamwork. Everyone contributed to each other weaknesses and made our stronger as a whole
Nemesis: "Skills > Fullset". After this round of botg, it would be
"Teamwork > Skills > Fullset".
Puddin: Teamwork is most important.
Shishui: Lastly, any words to the hunters out there?
Lanesra: Well I think it would be nice to see some more Heat DB users out there
And for the ones that already are: your the best :3 (Lillini and Happy(i count your astral db too wink))
Kenshin: Stay tune - DPRO
Nemesis: Alwasy remember,
Teamwork > Skills > Fullset. Make do with what you have, ignore what others have that you don't, and strive for the better. We can't have everything in the game, but we can have as much skills as we're willing to put our time in. Peace out
Puddin: Many thanks to my teammates & to all the people that offered words of encouragement & voted for us!
