[SS Magi] Ameliorate

Magi Description:

Recovers your HP and creates an area where you and allies can recover HP for 16 seconds.

Heal Amount

800 + 750 HP

Cooldown:

90 Seconds

Review:

Fast charge time, and gives high overall heal! (Heals 800HP initially and 750HP over time for 16 Seconds). It is a pure HP healing skill with no other gimmicks other than healing. You can also heal your allies when your allies is within the healing AOE but the AOE is quite small as compared to other healing magi like Pure Cure.

Rating:

I believe everyone have different playstyles. So instead of rating the Magi according to myself, i will include other player's opinion also. This way you can have a better overview of the Magi from different perspective.

Lets hear em from the Elites!

Kiyodo: "Provides a very small healing circle around the caster, heals for 800 HP, then provides a 50 HP HoT for 8 ticks every 2 seconds. This heal should not be considered for group healing, but the total heal overall is relatively strong. By the time the HoT runs out, you should be able to cast this magi again. A wise choice to counter DoT effects like poison, freeze, and burn."

[SS Magi] Vulcan's Fury

Magi Description:

Temporarily increases Fire ATK +180%, Earth Element DEF +800 and immunity to stagger for 30 seconds

Cooldown:

100 Seconds

Review:

Not only does it boost your overall fire damage to a huge extent (180%), it also provide Anti Stagger Buff which is very helpful. Vulcan works with almost any fire set equipment, for example Halley Spear Set. Another alternative from this is the Cloak Series. Both of them have their pros and cons but they are both good magis! As compared to the Cloak Series, this magi provides additional 10 secs buff duration which can improve your arena scores by alot. 10 Seconds is able to provide you the buffs needed for another round of arena. (Cloak only last for 2 rounds while Perendi's Wrath/Vulcan Fury can last us 3 rounds). The cast time is shorter too. Definitely recommend to get this if you want to compete in the arena!

Kiyodo: "Elemental DMG and DEF greatly complement the normal GS and heat GS cleave / pulverize ability and it gives the anti-stagger buff."

Boltzzz: "Increase fire damage up to 180%, gives anti-stagger, and increase earth element defense up to 600
all buff last for 30s, magi charge : fast

A very good magi to buff fire damage, only losing against fire cloak by 20% in fire damage buff. Can be charged when buff is active unlike Quad Aegis and Survivor's Grit, perma buff is possible due to a fast magi chage. Great to use on all kind of fire element weapon. With addition of anti-stagger and earth element defense this magi is very solid aginst earth behemoths.

Rating : 10/10"

Karyu: "Similar to cloaks, it provides a high amount of element damage buff. Even though the amount is slightly less, the duration is 10 seconds longer, and CD is 20 seconds shorter than cloak, which makes it easier to perform higher dmg in shorter interval and easier to maintain unlimited element damage buff (the blank time between buffs for cloak are quite long). Only Tranquil gives HOT instead of anti-stagger."

[SS Magi] Tranquil Fury

Magi Description:

Temp gradually heals HP. Earth ATK +180%, Lightning DEF +800 and Heal over time; 20 HP every 2 seconds for 30 seconds (total 300HP)

Cooldown:

100 Seconds

Review:

As compared to Vulcan's Fury (Fury Series), one main differences is this magi does not provide the Anti stagger buff while Vulcan's fury does. As compared to the Cloak Series (e.g. Tellus Cloak), this magi provides 20% less earth atk and has no anti-stagger. But it has faster charge and cast time and provides Heal over time (300HP); not much but it helps a little, which is good for weapons that does not have a heal slot.

[SS Magi] Survivor's Grit

Magi Description:

Absorbs a portion of the damage dealt with your weapon for 40 sec. Immune to Stagger. Normal attack DMG +20%. *Magi gauge does not fill while absorption effect is active.

Cooldown:

80 Seconds

Review:

The first thing i thought about when i see this stats is that this is perfect match with the Soul Spear! Since Soul spear drains HP (max of 200 per hit) when using normal attack, this magi can recover the lost damage and buff normal attack by 20%. Not to mention anti stagger too! However the downside is that this magi will not charge when the buff is already active. As for other weapons other than soul spear, it wouldnt be as effective/good. Its better to use Cloaks/Fury as support.

Rating:

I believe everyone have different playstyles. So instead of rating the Magi according to myself, i will include other player's opinion also. This way you can have a better overview of the Magi from different perspective.

Lets hear em from the Elites!

Kiyodo: "The lifesteal buff from Survivor's Grit can be more effective than an Aegis shield, especially when dealing with poison and burn DMG that ignore shields. The short cooldown makes it even more useful."

Boltzzz: "Anti-stagger, life steal (max 200/hit) and normal atrack dmg + 20% for 40s, magi charge : fast

Life steal mechanic : 10% of physical dmg (max 100) + 10% of elemental dmg (max 100) (in total max 200 life steal per hit)

Note : magi gauge will not charge when the buff is up

This magi is designed for fast and hard hitting weapons such as normal and heat dual blades. Due to life steal mechanic soul DB only get max 100 life steal / hit (need confirmation). This magi is not recommended for slow hitting or low dmg weapons (GS, heat spear). The healing amout of this magi is massive, no healing magi can beat the potential of this magi yet, this is also why this magi is great for weapons that have no recover magi slot (not recommended for heat spears)

Rating using normal/astral/heat DB : 10/10
Rating using SnS/SnC/Spear normal and astral : 9/10
Rating using Bow/GS : 8/10
Rating using Heat Spear : 7/10"

Karyu: "HP absorb through attack (except magi) boosts the survivability. Though it really depends on which weapon you use it on, as there is a limitation of 200 HP per hit, which means it's more useful with multi-hit weapons (like heat dual blades), but rather weak to weapons with long interval hit (like GS). Be note that it also boost normal combo's damage, so it will be quite useful on heat dual blades or even soul spear in future, as these kind of weapons' main dps falls on their normal combo attack."

[SS Magi] Scorch Decoy

Magi Description:

Summons a decoy that diverts the enemy's attention. When enemy makes contact with it, it explodes and deals Fire DMG after a period of time.

Cooldown:

105 Seconds

Review:

Create a fire trap magi that deals medium amount of damage and aggro the behemoth. Hmm.. To be honest.. it's not worth summoning xD Recommend to get a support magi from the Cloak series instead.

[SS Magi] Quad Aegis

Magi Description:

Grants shield for 200% of your max HP. Immunity to stagger & take less damage

Cooldown:

120 Seconds

Review:

A kinda "must get" magi since it can be helpful in many situations as it gives a HP shield of 200% of Maximum HP and reduce the damage taken, making you very tanky plus provides Anti stagger buff as long shield on. This magi cannot be charged while buff active (unless you bring 2 Quad in 2 support slots)

Rating:

I believe everyone have different playstyles. So instead of rating the Magi according to myself, i will include other player's opinion also. This way you can have a better overview of the Magi from different perspective.

Lets hear em from the Elites!

Kiyodo: "This magi is very useful for farming fields and a strong choice for beginners. The shield is big enough to withstand a lot of DMG (including some wipe skills) and the anti-stagger buff allows the caster to play aggressively, especially at close range. Later on, this magi will gradually lose its effectiveness as debuffs and enraged behemoths become more prominent, since it cannot be charged while the shield is active.

Boltzzz: "A very good magi for survivability because it gives 200% additional hp (unhealable) as shield, and can guarantee a stable DPS (won't stagger when launching attack).
All the damage from behemoth will deplete shield before shaving off HP, status ailment such as poison and burn will deplete hp but not shield, freeze will deplete both HP and Shield, when paralyzed can only wait until paralyzed effect cleared (won't get up / thrown even if hit by behemoth).
A very good magi but don't be too reliant on this magi, your senses will dull (dodging attacks).

Rating : 10/10"

Karyu: "One of the god support magi and still widely used even in nowadays JP. The projection that it provides are way more useful, and allows you to tank through ultimate skills of behemoths. However, with the amount of buff removing skills and rage increasing, QA's usage has greatly reduced due to the fact of its CD limitation. Though getting "nerfed" by some of the behemoth skills, QA's position can't be altered much. Definitely worth getting one to back you up if you face difficulties."

[SS Magi] Poison Remedy/Venom Guard

Magi Description:

Cures poison; temp boosts DEF for you & nearby allies by 200% for 30 seconds

Cooldown:

100 Seconds

Review:

Boost physical defense and element defense by 200%, cures poison and provides anti poison buff for 30 seconds wow! The defense buff is good for any weapon especially the Heat Great Sword as it will increase Pulverize damage. Venom Guard did not restrict it's defense buff to a specific element as compared to Smite Spite which specifically state that it increases Lightning Defense only by 200%. This means you can pair this magi with any elemental heat great sword and maximize your pulverize damage. Best paired with passive magi from the Enchantment Series (e.g. Woodland Enchantment) to amplify pulverize's damage. The cure poison and anti poison buff also helps a lot when facing a behemoth that poisons. Last but not least, it is an AOE buff so you would only need 1 person to cover the entire team. A must get magi for Heat Great Sword users!!!

P.S. The best combination would be getting Woodland Enchantment as Passive magi for the armor. And using Lich Weapon (with Both Smite Spite and Venom Guard for the 2 support slots) for maximum damage.

Kiyodo: "The anti-poison buff is very convenient, but what really makes this magi powerful is the +200% physical DEF buff which complements the normal GS and heat GS cleave / pulverize ability. However, the lack of anti-stagger can make it difficult to land a cleave."

Karyu: "Originally made to boost the cleave damage for normal GS (the physical damage part). However, since it boosts ALL defense, it also affect element defense, which makes pulverize damage explodes as the sum of element defense is multiplied by 3. Definitely get one if you main heat GS.
there, all magi done :3"

Cooldown:

An awesome support magi but with niche abilities and it will still depend on the situation. I have this magi but i can safely say i never used it ever since i summon it because there are other better support magi like Cloak and Quad Aegis out there.

Kiyodo: "Changing your roll animation into a faster teleport animation can be useful since many weapon types tend to roll a lot. Increasing ATK SPD means a higher DMG output and faster magi fill, so it is a great choice for aggressive players, especially DB users."

Karyu: "You can treat it as a dodge distance and dodge speed buff. The attack speed is also useful for some weapons. However, those buff isn't worth that long cast time and CD limitation while buff activates. Overall doesn't boost much survivability and not even some damage boost. Toy magi confirm."

Lets hear em from the Elites!

Kiyodo: "Does not deal a lot of DMG, but as behemoths raise in level, their physical DEF scales exponentially, making Joyful Stars more useful in the late game. For lvl 150 behemoths and below, this magi's ability not very effective."

Boltzzz: "This magi is a little bit underrated in karyu review, idk why but the data there is kinda different. The effect says -50 phy. def buff, but actually this is wrong, it also debuff the ele def of the behemoth (i tested, this also affect magi dmg), a very support magi that also deals dmg (even if it is miniscule,). you will deal double damage when this magi debuff effect is active and can have perma -50 def (not really x2 sometimes).
Stack with zapheres but the extra dmg is not too much.

rating : 10/10"

Karyu: "Even it lowers the physical defense of behemoths, behemoths nowadays have super high physical defense. Moreoever, this is the element era where elemental damage plays the main role. Could troll others when using on a magi-counter behemoth."

[SS Magi] Frozen Nova

Magi Description:

Cures Burn status for you and allies. Water DMG temp +120%. Immunity to Burn. Freezes enemies and deals Water DMG.

Cooldown:

100 Seconds

Review:

I used this magi as an alternative for Undulance Cloak/Tranqil Fury. Since it gives +120% Water Damage, its only 80% less than Cloak, plus it cures and gives anti burn debuff. Although this magi is outdated with the release of the Cloak Series, the aoe debuff may come handy when teamwork is needed (e.g. Ayame Battle Royale) the cure for burn is very useful in that situation.

Karyu: "If you don't have water cloak, this magi is worth a try while you are waiting for revival of water cloak or appearance of water fury. The anti-burn and freeze attack is just a side effect, but still it's quite useful on most fire behemoths (especially macabre who burns you on every attack)"

Karyu: "Pretty useless magi. First of all, you need to let the behemoth lands on the ice trap. Further more, it takes at least two traps to freeze the behemoth (depends on the status resistance). Meanwhile FWR is there doing instance freeze, you are laying traps that might not even hit on the behemoth. Use it as awakening fodder."

Cooldown:

This magi blocks the entire fire type damage, not to mention anti Stagger for any fire type damage and can still be charged while buff active. This magi was a life saver against tough fire behemoth (like the expert Vulcan expedition and Ayame battle royale).

Rating:

I believe everyone have different playstyles. So instead of rating the Magi according to myself, i will include other player's opinion also. This way you can have a better overview of the Magi from different perspective.

Behemoths become faster and learn more DMG abilities as they raise in lvl, making its usefulness grow expentially with the difficulty curve. Unlike Aegis magi, Fire Ward can be charged while in use, which increases its effectiveness against debuff abilities and enraged behemoths."

Karyu: "The god magi against fire behemoths. You are basically immune to any fire damage that is dealt on you, and even absorbs the amount of damage (up to 300 per hit). More importantly it still recovers CD even when effect is on, so technically the duration of buff is unlimited (except after debuff howl or rage). Totally useless to other element behemoths ;D"

[SS Magi] Thundering Hysteria

Magi Description:

Temporarily add a paralyzing effect to your weapon, makes you immune to Stagger, and boosts attack and move SPD by 20% for 30 seconds

Cooldown:

120 Seconds

Review:

Its like a SS rank Neurotoxin buff but it has additional stats increasing both atk and move speed by 20% and provides Anti Stagger buff. It is VERYYYY slow cast which makes it a somewhat bad magi. Best used with Dual Blades/Spear. Also i had a discussion with Karyu before regarding Status Ailments and talked about how different Thundering Hysteria is as compared to Neurotoxin. The results are shocking. Click me to read the discussion now!

Lets hear em from the Elites!

Kiyodo: "Effective when paired with DB, spear, or SnS since more hits means more chances to proc paralysis. The ATK SPD and movement SPD buffs are noticeable, but only slightly. Its channelling time is very long and easy for the behemoth to interrupt, so be sure to cast it in a safe position."

Karyu: "Provides paralyze enchant on weapon, attack speed and anti-stagger in 1 single magi. Though, it's not worth that long cast (as the buff is activate at the very last moment), which made it gets interrupted easily. If you just need the paralyze effect, the B rank Neurotoxin is a way better choice as it is easy to get and easy to max awaken it. Isn't worth too for the anti-stagger buff as there are better options (QA, cloak, grit etc)"

[SS Magi] Smite Spite

Magi Description:

Cooldown:

100 Seconds

Review:

Another good support magi for Lich Heat Greatsword users, and can actually be also used with other Heat GS while wearing Lich armor. However, this will only work if you have high lightning defence. As compared to Venom Guard, which can be used for ANY element as it doesnt state a specific element. The best combination would be getting Woodland Enchantment as Passive magi for the armor. And using Lich Weapon (with Both Smite Spite and Venom Guard for the 2 support slots) for maximum damage.

Rating:

I believe everyone have different playstyles. So instead of rating the Magi according to myself, i will include other player's opinion also. This way you can have a better overview of the Magi from different perspective.

Lets hear em from the Elites!

Kiyodo: "Anti-paralysis is highly valued against lightning behemoths. The 200% lightning DEF is strong for earth normal and heat GS, so it pairs greatly with Tranquil Fury (but Tranquil Fury is much stronger). You can have a party member buff the Lich set user with Venom Guard, for insane benefit."

Karyu: "Definitely a magi that made heat GS broke the game (in global only). Boosting 200% of lightning defense making lich sets' pulverize damage higher than it possibly could, as Lich have lightning defense on armors. The duration is long as well so you don't need to worry the buff goes away quickly. Anti-paralyze is useful to Lich too as you mostly using it facing lightning behemoths, but otherwise it wouldn't be recommended to use on other sets as the use is very limited. Get it if you main heat gs."

[SS Magi] Seraphic Symphony

Magi Description:

Restores HP for you & allies; DEF +50% for 30 seconds, Heal over time buff for 10 seconds

Heal Amount:

472 + (48 x 5)HP

Cooldown:

120 Seconds

Review:

Gives Element and Phys Def +50% which affects Heat Greatsword Pulverize's Elemental Damage. However the buff only last for a short 10 seconds. This is an alternative you can use if you don't have support magi like Venom Guard or Smite Spite which are the better choices (as of 20/04/2018) or if your weapon doesn't have support magi slot for Venom Guard or Smite Spite.

Lets hear em from the Elites!

Kiyodo: "The HoT buff is not very effective and the heal is very weak. Buffing physical DEF is not highly valued in the current meta (as of 2018/3/27), so the effect is negligable."

[SS Magi] Sanctuary

Magi Description:

Creates an area where you and your allies can recover HP for 15 seconds.

Heal Amount:

50 x 25 HP

Cooldown:

120 Seconds

Review:

Provide heals over time AOE buff for 15 seconds.. However the AOE circle will stay at that exact spot. You can either cast it near the behemoth so the party members can get heals while they tank the behemoth or cast it far away from the behemoth so people can safely heal. (But the user with aggro must not go to the circle tho LOL if not everyone would get damaged in the circle instead of healing :P)

Lets hear em from the Elites!

Kiyodo: "May be useful when paired with equipment abilities that increase recovery, but otherwise a very weak recovery magi. When players group in Sanctuary's healing circle, it will persuade the behemoth to use one of its AoE abilities on the circle, making players move out of it and reducing the overall effectiveness of the heal."

[SS Magi] Resolute Symphony

Magi Description:

Heals you & allies. Non-elemental ATK 150 and Anti-stagger for 30 Seconds.

Heal Amount:

708 HP

Cooldown:

120

Review:

Gives +150 physical attack and Anti stagger buff but it's 708HP heal is below average and has longer charge time. Would be useful if you don't have any other support/atk/recovery magi that does not provide the anti stagger buff/if you do not have other healing magi.

[SS Magi] Pure Cure

Magi Description:

Restores HP; removes status ailments for you & surrounding allies

Heal Amount:

880 HP

Cooldown:

70 Seconds

Review:

Fast Charge Rate and removes status ailments (poison, burn etc) on the user. It is an AOE heal and heals a decent amount of 880HP. Take note that it only "cures" your character from status ailments, which means you can be debuffed again by the behemoth later. It does not prevent you from getting the status ailments.

Lets hear em from the Elites!

Kiyodo: "The heal is decent enough to be effective and the debuff removal is a strong utility choice for one party member to have."

Lanesra: "The healing of this magi is quite low but it allows to heal any status element with wich the healed ppl are affected. Vs some behe it can come quite handy but mostly it isnt there are far more healing magi out there. Final score 6/10""

[SS Magi] Plume Revive

Magi Description:

Restores HP and revives allies on same field

Heal Amount:

800 HP

Cooldown:

130 Seconds

Review:

My favourite healing magi! (as of 20/04/2018). This magi is a lifesafer. You know how you run to your party mates to heal them while their death count down 3.. 2.. 1..? With this, you can revive your party mates to full HP wherever they are as long as they are in the same map with just a click of magi! It heals a decent amount of HP, however it only heals yourself. A party would be solid with an Angel's Embrace user and a Plume Revive user as support for difficult events like Beast Tower. Best paired with Sword and Claw as they charge magi fast.

Lets hear em from the Elites!

Kiyodo: "Globally revives all party members and heals them for a decent amount. Can be useful to have more than one player with this magi in case one falls."

Lanesra: "Its a good magi almost as good as angels emberace since it allows a surviving player to hinder team wipes by any behemoth. Its casting time is pretty low and all revived allies have FULL health. Sadly this magi is only as good as the teammembers with which you are playing. Final score 9/10"

[SS Magi] Paladin's Blessing

Magi Description:

Restores HP for you and nearby allies

Heal Amount:

948 HP

Cooldown:

120 Seconds

Review:

In the past it was considered one of the good magi as it heals a pretty high amount of HP. But in 2018, it was overpowered by all the recent AOE healing magi like angelic embrace.(20/04/2018) It is now outdated in terms of healing and utility.

[SS Magi] Innocent Requiem

Magi Description:

Restores HP for you & allies; paralyzes & deals lightning DMG

Heal Amount:

472 HP

Cooldown:

60 Seconds

Review:

Very fast charge and have a chance to Paralyze the behemoth. This is one of the very first recovery magi i got and it is very useful for farming when you are low level. Paralyzes all the mobs around me so i could kill them with spear. By the time they are killed, the magi gauge is full and i cast it repeatedly, paralyzing the mobs and healing myself. This way i die lesser in high level maps.

Rating:

I believe everyone have different playstyles. So instead of rating the Magi according to myself, i will include other player's opinion also. This way you can have a better overview of the Magi from different perspective.

Lets hear em from the Elites!

Kiyodo: "Has a very weak AoE heal with below average lightning DMG, but slightly makes up for it with a very short cooldown and a chance to paralyze. This magi is slightly more spammable than Chilling Embrace and paralysis is stronger than freeze, but it's still not very useful."

[SS Magi] Gifts For All

Magi Description:

5 gift boxes. Heals you or allies

Heal Amount:

1000 x 5 HP

Cooldown:

120 Seconds

Review:

Able to heals up to 5k for self or 4k to ally. (Alstair will provide an explaination/details regarding this in the section below!) Best to cast it at a suitable distance away from the behemoth so your party mates can receive the box safely.

Rating:

I believe everyone have different playstyles. So instead of rating the Magi according to myself, i will include other player's opinion also. This way you can have a better overview of the Magi from different perspective.

Lets hear em from the Elites!

Kiyodo: "An underdog recovery magi that heals for 5,000 HP in total when all 5 gifts are collected. The gifts stay on the field for a relatively long time and can be used by other party members. It's nice for each party member to have one of it"

Alstair: "It a aoe healing magi that cast will spawn 5 Xmas giftbox but if u notice u will only see 4. Why cause whenever u cast it is layout in a pattern like this

1 box.                   1box
              1box(also caster position)
1box.                    1box

So 1box will directly land on caster healing him at 1000hp max. Each box heals for a 1000 Hp. So if u use this on solo playing it a whooping total of 5000hp.
Ok come the point how long the box stay on the field?? Approximately 45sec it will remain  on the field. So if the timing is done properly with awaken on the magi I think it is possible to cast it all over the field. One think they don't remove the unused box even if u cast again. Without awaken I believe it will be able to use that little loophole. As the magi charging take up sometimes. I would say it is a good free magi for f2p players even for p2p players too.

Rating 9/10"

[SS Magi] Chilling Embrace

Magi Description:

Restores HP for you & allies; freezes & deals water DMG

Heal Amount:

Fast Charge Rate and provides a chance to Freeze but it heals 500HP only; pretty low. There are better magi out there! :P

[SS Magi] Brimming Magia

Magi Description:

Recover your HP and the Magi Gauges of your other Magi.

Heal Amount:

1080 HP

Cooldown:

130 Seconds

Review:

Decent heal but it has low charge rate and it heals self only.. This magi can help to charge the magi gauge your other magi. However if you are using Sword and Claw or Greatsword, this magi does not make significant difference as they charge magi at a fast rate. It would be recommended to go for other magi that could boost other stats.

[SS Magi] Angel's Embrace

Magi Description:

Restores HP for you and allies; grants you a revival effect. *Revival effect can only be used once per 1 consecutive battle

Heal Amount:

1600 HP

Cooldown:

100 Seconds

Review:

Fast Charge time, Heals an incredible amount of 1600 HP and provides 50% Auto Revive AOE Buff. This magi is important and very useful for Events like Tower or Arena. There were many times my team was saved by the auto revive buff and the 1600HP heal. Do try to cast it near your allies so they gain the auto revive buff too!

Kiyodo: "Quick cast and strong AoE heal. In Beast Tower and Altair Arena, this magi casts quick enough to heal in the moment between killing a behemoth and changing floors. With the abundance of debuffs and enraged behemoths, the auto-revive buff should not be relied upon, but it can come in handy."

[SS Magi] Angelic Refugee

Magi Description:

A barrier is created while casting, where all damage is nullified and your HP is restored.

Heal Amount:

600 HP

Cooldown:

80 Seconds

Review:

Heals and gives you angelic protection for 3-4 seconds where you become invincible to attacks. It is useful to dodge behemoth deadly attacks but you will need to time it right! This is the only recovery magi that gives invulnerability frame that can be used to dodge attacks. (as of 20/04/18)

Rating:

I believe everyone have different playstyles. So instead of rating the Magi according to myself, i will include other player's opinion also. This way you can have a better overview of the Magi from different perspective.

Lets hear em from the Elites!

Kiyodo: "Gives the player 4 seconds of invulnerability while channelling, and then heals for a small amount. The invulnerability is very useful for dodging long-lasting wipe moves and lasts long enough to solo revive a fallen party member. However, the player can be moved off of a revive circle if pushed by the behemoth, so position carefully."
